Our Storytelling with Puppets sessions for preschools implement many elements of the Aistear Framework in particular the language and communication.
Each session includes storytelling by little gem puppets, movement games where the children use their hands and bodies to act out rhymes and songs, puppeteering where the students use their own puppets to tell stories, nursery rhymes and make up their own plays. Each child makes their own puppet during the first session and keeps it to use during the following sessions.
Do you have a topic you need to discuss with your group? Maggie can come and talk about bullying, sharing, environmental awareness. We can incorporate activities like having the students teach the puppet how to behave and encourage teamwork by putting together a performance. We can also introduce some Irish into the session and bring in characters from different cultures.
We can come to your preschool for one free session and if you decide you like us we can come for four weekly sessions or once a month throughout the school year. The sessions run for approx 45mins and cost €4/student/session there needs to be a minimum of 15 students.
